I realize this is a very personal question, but I'm having trouble finding a job where I live. (I'm a graduate in 2012 and registered) I'm open to moving, and might go back to New York where I went to school. What is the average hourly rate or monthly take home pay for Sonographers in NYC area? Trying to decide if the take home pay is worth the move, since I know all too well how expensive it is to live in the NYC area.

Thanks for any help!

As you know it's hard finding jobs in NY as well without experience bc of a saturated market (even with exp it's prob still hard right now to get FT), so asking about take home salary is sort of besides the point IMHO.

The area I work in, there is a difference in pay between per diem and full time.

I know some people piece together a couple per diem jobs to take home a decent chunk of change.
