thanks.. i graduated from AIMT in Tulsa.... i should have gone to a four year college. I only found a job prn on the weekend and had to go back to nursing. I already had my LPN. I met a women while i was in clinicals that worked for an ultrasound company but she wasnt an ultrasound tech. She just was trained on there machines. I hear there are alot more ultrasound positions down there in houston then up here! |

I am a sonographer here in Tulsa and have been for years. I too am concerned about the job market. I wondered if the AIMT lets you know that you might have to move in order to find a position. I love my job, but I get asked all the time if it is a good career move. I am not sure how to answer that question with as many grads. that are coming out. |

No they didnt let us know that. They also said they would help us find a job and that wasnt true either. I dont think its a good career move unless you already have a guarenteed job. I wish I had just finished my RN i feel like i wasted two years of school when I could of already gotten my bachelor's degree! |

I was alarmed to view your posting-- and hope to find out more information if possible. I am about to begin the sonography program at AIMT in August and am constantly researching to find any graduates to ask.....There are no jobs in Tulsa or surrounding areas? What was your overall experience with the school and clinicals? Do you really feel it was a complete waste of money and time or do you have valuable skills that you could use...just havent found the right opportunity? I am really getting concerned and really just want to know the experience of other students who have attended AIMT. It is an expensive investment and quite a sacrifice of time and I do not want to realize a negative truth too late. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. laura10 in tulsa, Oklahoma said: thanks.. i graduated from AIMT in Tulsa.... i should have gone to a four year college. I only found a job prn on the weekend and had to go back to nursing.
