I have heard that the Davies OB/GYN practice exams and the Mosby Ultrasound review by Susanna Ovell was really helpful for OB/GYN. I also purchased flashcards from www.ultrasoundflashcards.com It is pretty cool because not only does it have 500 or 600 flashcards you can add to them or make your own Plus you can print them out. I used all 3 of theses studied guides for my Physic and my Abdomen. Besides the past year of school I only studied for 2 1/2 weeks before taking the abdomen test and I passed my first time. I know that it is a lot of work but I looked through every page on this forum and found lots of useful information for the abdomen exam. I copied and passed it into a word document and then made some adjustments to it for my own use. I would also suggest going to ARDMS and print out the outline. Especially depending on when you are taking it. I saw that the outline is changing sometime this spring. The other thing I would suggest is google ultrasound images (or look them up in your text books) of things that are considered the most common. I was lucky at my clinical site I saw so many diseases/disorders etc that it made looking at images a little easier.

For free flashcards, go to flashcardexchange.com. You can search for the ones that you need. I typed in OBGyn and ARDMS and found a bunch that people were offering. Just be careful to double check the answers to the questions that people have created. You don't want to be studying incorrect answers. It's a good way to study also by having to confirm that the answers are correct.

Also, I've been graduated and out of work for a couple of months now also. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get some scanning in? Is anyone volunteering as an intern to keep up with scanning? I kept hearing horror stories from my instructors saying that if you don't scan for awhile you lose your skills. Tell me that's not the case....please!

Has anyone used the Appleton and Lange Ultrasonography Review for registry prep? I read on Amazon how there are quite a few errors. As I flip through the book, especially the questions, some of the answers seem to be incorrect also. I am just wondering if I am now biased because of what I read on Amazon. Has anyone else experienced this too.

Yes I did for both abdomen and physics. There are a few errors but it wasn't the only book I used to study. I just like having practice questions from different sources. Good luck.

I have not taken the OB/GYN exam yet but I used the Davies and Mosby ultrasound review for Abdomen. I have heard from my classmate they though OB/GYN was easier. I am going to register for the OB/GYN test this week and I will probably take it in about 2 maybe 3 weeks.
