My opinion is to do her own research - and not just get other people's opinions. Just an FYI I did go to Keiser and spoke with the people there and they are very helpful. If not for the cost I would have gone there. They go out of their way to get jobs for their graduates (and non graduate) while there I told them I was unemployed and they showed me to the job board. I know that its very pricy so I elected a different program at another school. |

kat in Hollywood, Florida said: If you look at the schools in the region...you will find out that Keiser is a full accredited school. For instance if you were to transfer to a university such as NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERISTY, WHICH they are hardcore strict about taking credits from outside private schools, they would actually accept Keiser since it is a full accredited school Nationally. I think you meant to say regional accreditation. National accreditation is Everest University/Institute, City College, etc. |

Well, ANYTHING in Radiology is limited. Nuclear, no jobs....XRay, very little....US, very little. I work in the department at CSMC soooo I would know. I attend Keiser as well and they seem to be a pretty good school. They accepted all my transfer credits and did not stick me into classes I didnt need. Guess it depends on the person. Any private school is expensive though...What'd you expect? 0_o . I think you learn more effectively because of smaller class sizes. I find Keiser to be a great school. FYI, ANY school you drop out of or flunk out of will tell you that you are responsible for the financial obligations...duh! lol. And its accredited! And my job hires PLENTY Keiser students (when theyre hiring)! Most of them are Keiser graduates or BCC/BC. Apply yourselves and you wont have to speak so negatively about a school or its program(s). |

Efox4518 in Pompano Beach, Florida said: Oh my god, do not go to keiser!!!!! The OTA is a good field to get in and I considered it myself. But, after a lot of counseling from a neighbor (who is a retired broward college advisor veteran) I decided to go to BCC for PTA. I am in year 2 and so far it has been affordable, wonderful, and I know I will be making 50k when i graduate. PTA is in high demand and rising much higher than OTA. Think about it. BCC costs 4k a year with books full time, keiser costs 15k+ per year. Keiser has a very bad rep. around here. BCC gives you extra money too twice a year. Think about it!!!!! The problem is, there are almost no OTA and PTA programs at the local community colleges. I live in Brevard County and they do not offer either of these programs. The closest school is Indian River State College and they only accept 24 students a year. I Know someone that has waited 3 years to get into that program. Kaiser at least offers these programs at several of their campuses. |

How's the Radiology Tech job market looking in Miami, FL??? I just saw Miami Childrens hospital has some positions open for Rad. Tech. I'm still undecided if to get in this field or Aviation. Its so hard to decide when one people are complaining about no jobs and the other they need jobs. Is it worth attending Keiser University for Radiology? |

Wow. It's unbelieavable some of the comments that I am reading. I am currently a Keiser University student. I am enrolled in the legal studies program, but started off in the business program. I agree it is expensive, but if you want a degree quicker and a smaller class size where you can actually learn something, then it's a great place to go. As far as jobs go, there is no guarantee you are getting a job anywhere right now. You have to hit the pavement. The job market these days isn't great, but it's just the economy right now. Things will pick up and when they do, those of us with degrees are going to make it. I go to Keiser in Lakeland, Fl. I must say that all the instructors I have had do not just carry a 2 year degree. All of my instructors are very qualified. Most of them carrying at least 2-3 bachelors or masters degrees. My experience has been quite positive. Also, for the record, someone mentioned Everest. Keiser owns Everest and they are no better or worse. The only difference is that one is for-profit and onne is not-for-profit. They are both accredited and you can transfer these courses to a big university if you want to. That being said, I recommend Keiser. As a matter of fact, my son will be also attending this school next month. I wouldn't let that happen if I didn't believe in the school or the degree that I will be getting. |

Just looking into my options for Ultrasound school and it seems so hard to get into other school other than private (expensive ughh) schools. Just wondering if anyone on here has attended the DMS program at the Daytona Beach location or the Melbourne location? I did a little research on Central Florida Institute which runs about $35,000 for their DMS program. Does anyone know how much it is through Keiser? And what hospitals they do their externships through? Thank you for any help :) |

any good responses about keiser are from employees of the school. the place is a scam and be real careful where you waste your money. |

Constantly teachers are quitting, bad extern sites. Keiser students were at the same hospitals/clinics I went to. I'd do a hospital program. Don't fall for the tech schools! I had to retake all the classes at state colleges because they wouldn't accept them as a transfer. |

I just graduated and cannot get a job. They do not care about you after you are long gone. They just want your money and give you a degree. Ultra sound is about the only thing I would take knowing what I know now. Even then I know a girl that has had her license and has not got hired anywhere. |

I haven't gone to Keiser myself (although I'm thinking about the PTA program in Lakeland), but I have a few friends who went through the nursing program and everyone from their class got jobs. Many had jobs before they had even graduated (with the places they had been doing their clinicals at). This was the Melbourne campus. It is seriously expensive though at around 40,000, and BCC is SOOOO much cheaper and just as close that I don't get why people go there. I asked my friend why she went there and she said that they just made it easier for her. You enroll and everything is taken care of for you. I think there might more to the story as far as her educational background is concerned bc again it just doesn't make sense, but it's not like you will be blacklisted if you go there. It really just depends on whether or not there is a market for whatever program you go into, which to my understanding radiology, ultrasound, and nuclear are all pretty saturated. If you're willing to relocate and go with a travel company you can probably increase your job opportunities. I would most certainly NOT depend on the admissions rep to give you job market info. They are sales people whose job literally depends on getting you to enroll. So do your own homework! The only issues I remember my friend mentioning weresome bs issues like the AC doesn't work or something ridiculous like that (this is Florida!! that should be considered torture!). There was also some silly issue about graduation where they had a really small amount of money to work with and it was left to the students to plan everything. But again that is the Melbourne campus and so these things may not be an issue elsewhere. One other thing I'd like to add: when I was doing ob hours for PTA, I ended up talking to a girl who is an OTA who had gone to Keiser, so obviously she was able to get a job too (and it was in a very nice snf I might add). I hope this helps...Good luck everyone! |

If you do your work you will pass it is as simple as that, i mean come on guys and girls this is college not middle school. The only reason i posted this is because i get tired of sorry students representing my school. I'm currently attending Keiser University. Could you tell me some of the techniques you used to understand Ultrasound Physics? Thanks |

Desperate in Miami, Florida 1 day ago |
I am between attending Dade Medical College and Keiser. I am between studying PTA, PT, OTA, RN or Diagnostic Medical Sonograph. I don't have any credits and will be starting from scratch. I have three kids and I am 27. I work full time. I don't want to go out of my way to go to school. So my only options (considering distance) is keiser (Dolphin mall), Dade Medical College (miami), Florida National College,Florida Career College, Fortis College (Mall of the Americas). I want to graduate from an accredited school as soon as possible successfully. I don't want to waste time. I want to start making about $50,000. Please any suggestions! Thank you! |
