I'm a mom. I started the ultrasound program when my daughter was only 10 months old. It was very hard because this program [or at least the one i went to, but i believe they all are] very time consuming. I felt like school was my life and with my child being so young, yes I do feel like I missed out on a lot.

Can you tell me the difference between UT and a EKG tech? If I saw a job for EKG tech but only went to school for UT would they consider me for the position? Is there a site i can get info? I really need to find a job!!! |

EKG and ultrasound are two completely different things. Ultrasound makes more money. |

It is not easy but it is worth it. Ultrasound school does take 100% commitment. There is much to learn and never enough time but it can be done and has been done by many moms out there. So go for it. |

I suggest job shadowing to get a better feel for what a sonographer actually does in real life. |
