The best management is allot like military unit organization. Find the most competent and reliable people you can, put them in the field in charge of small groups, not a "rover" that drive a hundred miles or more a day because the admin can't figure out how to schedule and group people together.
Gavin de Becker and Blackwater did not become the major players by just throwing people at job sites.
Hire the best, most qualified, support them, pay them, treat them like humans and you will have "natural" management.
Running a security company is not that hard. Running a GOOD security company is.
All the software and documents in the world will make little difference if you can't provide good employees to your client, or you promote people who do not show the correct merits to warrant a promotion.
Start small, grow only when you have the ability to cover a years worth of payroll.
