I have been interested in doing this for sometime for a lot of reasons but my questions are these:

1. What are the pros/cons of on-line (distance) education in this field? How are you supposed to get hands on experience? Does anyone know of any schools in the Charlotte, NC - Rock Hill, SC area?

2. I've been seeing a lot of different titles (i.e. Vet tech, Vet assistant, etc). what is the difference between these titles?

tech = associates degree
assistant = 1 semester course.
