That seems way over-priced. I am going to be going to a school near Sacramento, it's a community college and the cost is more or less $7000 for a two year Associates Degree. Unless that cost includes rent and all of that it seems too high to me. There are a few community colleges in NoCal that have accredited vet tech programs, you might want to check around. |

It might be worthwhile to look at other colleges, including a distance education program if you are already working in a clinic. Do a little "comparison shopping" because at that price you might still come out cheaper to drive a little further. Whatever school you choose, just be sure it is AVMA approved. Also contact your state veterinary technician association and see if they offer any kind of scholarships or know of anyone who does. NAVTA and AKC offer scholarships to NAVTA members so you would want to check out their website as well. www.navta.net |
