Hello, I'm a sophomore at a technical college in my area and I'm looking to transfer into San Juan's Distance Learning Veterinary Tech program. I have a few questions about the program....

How soon does one have to find a clinic to fulfill the "clinical" hours?
Is it mandatory to have clinical hours the first semester of classes?

How does one find a Veterinary Clinic with a Preceptor that is willing to work with an "online" student? Is there anything available that outlines what is somewhat "expected" of the preceptor?

Is financial aid (FASFA) accepted?

You have to have a job after the first Tier of classes. You do not have to have clinical hours in the first semester.

You have to do some legwork to find a job if you don't have one. That means sending out resumes, letters, making phone calls, etc.. The SJC website has a lot of good info on it and will answer a lot of your questions.
