Hi, I am going to graduate in August with a B.S. degree in media production and radio/TV. I have no clue how to go about getting a job. I am doing an internship this Summer that is non paid, but it will not lead to a job. Does anyone have any advice. I like editing and it is something I have always wanted to do as a career. I am clueless. Please help. Thanks

Editing in Chicago for example through the Unions was 250 per day plus added penalties if you don't take lunch, stay late, work the overnight shift.

Problem is most stations are no longer hiring just editors you must be an photgrapher/editor or a writer with some editing experience.

In states where there are no Unions they can pay you whatever they feel like it. It all depends on the station's budget. Some can pay $8- $10 an hour other $15-$20.

Most stations will start you low cause they know you will be working overtime most of the time. I think in a non-union town you can make $50K - $60 with overtime...
