Real world experience. Virtual Assistance isn't a profession you can be "trained for" other than having had an exceptional amount of experience working in upper level adminstrative capacities.

If someone has that background and are masterfully skilled, they are perfect candidates for entering the profession and starting their own Virtual Assistant business.

Here are the sample virtual assistant qualification:

* He or she should be Knowledgeable in Basic Computer Softwares (Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, FrontPage, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word))

* Fluently speaks some foreign language is a plus(English, Chinese, Spanish, Dutch, etc.)

*has an experience

*have good typing skills

..this only n example. you can have your own standard but the important is you have a virtual assistant that will hep you in managing your business.
