Hi I just started at a place in Massachusetts and have found out that the owner only pays us based on the hours we are scheduled. We are expected to set huge functions at the end of our shift often keeping us there until 11:30 when we have stopped taking tables at 9:30 and close at 10. Since we are scheduled until closing we are only paid until 10 pm.
I know this is illegal and am tired of owners and corporations taking advantage of servers and the working class. So the question I have is should I report them to the department of labor?,
