i am currently taking classes towards a web development degree. i learn best hands-on. i wanted to know if anyone is aware of any kind of seperate program/schooling or a job that hires individuals in my position because the classes (most of which are online) are in my opinion not enough to get the knowledge and confidence required to partake in a job after the degree has been earned.

SpringSource offers all sorts of classes for their products. For instance, you can take Core Spring, then take the certification exam. And bam, you've got a certification for your resume!
