What are typical word processor salaries?

Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field?

What skills should you learn to increase your salary?

I was a Lead Operator/Word Processor for 25 years at a Pharmaceutical and Medical Research and Consulting firm in Philadelphia. At the time of my leaving that firm, I was making 63,000 a year.

I am not sure if this is typical for a word processor, but that was my salary. I am highly skilled, I taught myself graphics, I have learned the keyboard "quick-keys" which allows fast production of documents and quick turn-around.
