Professional Educator in Austin, Texas

I recently moved from Virginia to Austin, TX, and am looking for a job in education (K-12 English, EFL, Talented & Gifted or Higher Educ., teacher training). I have 15+ years as an educator in both U.S. and international school systems & IHEs.. Although, I'm most interested in pursuing my career in public education, I'd be ammeniable to corporate training positions.

I've got a couple of questions for any/all that might have some tips:
1) Can anyone recommend some job clubs/networking clubs in Austin?
2) I've noticed that many corporations seeking trainers prefer certificed individuals. Can anyone speak to the value of corporate certification programs out there?
