Hi all! I have been in Austin for nearly 2 months now, I've tried everything from Linkedin to Career Builder, Monster, Texas Jobs, Craigslist ect. My degree is in Business Management and I have a strong background in Hospitality Management in addition to about of year of Office Management and HR experience. I am trying to break away from hospitality but I haven't been able to find anything! Any tips to strengthen my chances in getting an interview?

The job market sucks, but keep trying. Theres more people than jobs.

My son went through this for 6 months, he gave up and joined the Marines.

I even downgraded my resume- nothing
I offered to waive company benefits- nothing
I offered to give up my U S Citizenship, n become an illegal- nothing

Some jobs advertise Help Wanted with no real intention of hiring anybody.

You don't list "networking" as something you have tried. I bet you haven't pushed hard on that one. :)

Try temp agency , work force, workintexas.com, also personnel store, always indeed.com, go to classes, at workforce, interviewing, resume, every little thing helps. Good Luck! I would go in person, and check out
some places where you would like to work, introduce your self, and why you would be a good fit for there company.

If you want to send your resume to me, I will take a look at it and give you feedback. I look at resumes every day, I'm on the board at Southern Careers Institute and talk to their classes regularly about interview do's and don'ts. You can send it to ATXREC@gmail.com
