Hi all. I am looking to move to the Baltimore Area in late 2012/early 2013 time frame, and I honestly only know about my home state and good versus bad neighborhoods. I want to live in an affordable yet safe neighborhood, which essentially does not exist anymore in California. The max rent I am willing to pay is $1100(for a 1 bedroom as I am the only one relocating), and my max amount of commuting time to/from work is 1 hour.

I am sorry if this has been discussed more than once, if there is another forum on this, i'll take the link :).

The main rule of thumb is don't go too far east, west or south.
