Do you think there is a possibility someone with a degree in Marketing from the University of Phoenix (Timonium, MD Campus) may get turned down at a job interview because that school is not looked at as seriously as say, Towson University?

OR does the only fact that matters is that you have a degree at all, not where it came from?

Thanks for your answers!!

Depends on the hiring manager. There are some "good ol'boys" who would hire someone from their alma mater regardless of the persons qualifications. We all need to professionally stand up for/with our qualifications. If you are fresh out of school, talk about the clubs you belonged to. Your other extracurricular activities, volunteer work, church, etc. If you are brand new with a Marketing degree but have work experience, list the achievements, money you saved the company, made the company, improvements, how you handle change (change management) etc.
Boast you GPA if you can. To answer your question, no it shouldn't matter, but their are all kinds of prejudice, in the work force, the number one prejudice? Old Age...
