Williamsville and Clarence go head to head every year in the top place for best schools. As an agent in Williamsville as well as a parent with children who attend the Williamsville schools, I know first hand what they have to offer.

Southtowns (Hamburg/Orchard Park) are less congested and offer same housing opportunities. Private schools (Catholic) are a hallmark of W.N.Y. history. Southtowns High Schools (St. Francis-boys...Immaculata/Mt. Mercy-girls). Grammar Schools (St. Peter & Paul, Hamburg-Armor, Orchard Park) would be a good start.

Kenmore/Tonawanda (KenTon)

Stay away from City of Buffalo. Some of the wealthier communities have more drug issues than others (Amherst,e.g.)

Good luck. I just moved back and am figuring out escape already! But it's a great family oriented area.

sorry you feel this way. I have raised all my children in buffalo schools and I am not worried at all. I think it all comes down to raising your kids with great morals and a strong head on their shoulders.

...if only good parenting (the definition varying wildly) were the most important influence on how a child turns out. Studies indicate that it is, instead, peers! Thus, community is exceedingly important.(Multiple influences with multiple parenting philosophies will, at the end, affirm that it does indeed "take a village to raise a child".)
Not any easy answers to this conundrum, and oh,how I envy your confidence, really. Thanks and best wishes.
