Senior Citizen in Atlanta, Georgia said: Here ya go, cousin :) Ok, where are the best neighborhoods in Charlotte. We are planning to move there very soon. Please help. We want to live in Mecklenburg County, they have it seperated by areas. Which would you recommend for good schools, and a safe place to raise children? |

I used to live in the University area, which was pretty nice. Now I live off of Old Statesville, both areas are great in my opinion. It depends on your price range |

Indian Trail area is very nice and safe. It is in Union County though. But the good thing is the schools are all rated excellent and taxes are low her. |

I am a realtor in Charlotte that works with listed homes & by owner homes. If you give me some specifics, I'd be glad to help you learn the area & whats available. david

head to South Carolina, only 25 minutes from uptown. Safer, better schools and lower taxes! |

County there are alot of folks that are drawn to the South Charlotte area (for example areas 4 or 5, or another example zip code 28277). But Charlotte is a city that is very spread out so it is best to pinpoint where your job will be first (think commute times). You have also received some good information if you wish to look outside the Meck. County lines as well. |

I live in the 28277 area, and would not recommend it. The traffic is much too heavy, and not enough roads have been planned. Also, the crime had become much higher. It is a good location for schools. They are removing alot of the natural areas and putting up medical buildings everywhere. |
