Been seeking a job for several months and the rejections are terrifying. How can you help remedy this situation? It is really depressing when you reenter over and over again the same information , after trying to spruce up your resume and outward appearance. What works? |

Most cash paying jobs are bars and restaurants. If you have experience as a server, I would have to say do to any busy restaurant and fill out an application. Most restaurants will have you fill out a tax form so all the cash you make, you will need to pay taxes. On occasion you have the option to report only a small portion of your tips.. With that option you will be less likely to pay a ridiculous amount of tax on cash earned. But you must keep in mind the majority of Americans pay their due taxes. Your tax dollars may not be well spent but that's how America started. A 200+ year old "tradition" will not be changed. Although many are affected by the entire tax dilemna, if you save money, you will hardly feel it. I personally make 78k a year and have very little debt. It's good debt though..my mortgage is all I have left to pay. When I first started working, I made 34k. Even then, I was still ok. Anyhow..Lena, you should apply at restaurants or bars if all you're looking for is cash. As for Mr. Benjamin and Mr. Barry Black, you are currently unemployed? If you need a job, there are plenty out there for you. If you don't have a college degree, then be an assistant to anyone. Beggars CAN NOT be choosers. Benjamin, go work at Blockbuster or at a local gas station. Time off is time wasted. If you are unemployed for a month, that's possibly 3k blown. While working, you should be looking for the next job. Mr. Barry Black, I do not intend to be rude, but your resume might not have enough strength behind it. Try starting at lower positions and work your way up if you decide to continue working there. Don't blame others for not hiring you.. If you feel you have a powerful resume, then have an expert dress it up for you. The way you word certain skills or previous positions may need a little emphasis. Several months without a job means you are lazy or your goals are currently unreachable. Do you have enough saved up to last a few more months |

<content removed> I do apologize once I read the Indeed page and realize I asked the question days ago. I have never been a server. clumsy me. I have labored for years in numerous occupations up to an assistant manager for a reknown real estate firm, with a high school background. I have never been lazy- I just lacked goals and now at my age, 54 the job market seem to value the youth and degree oriented. I tried for an CNA last year and the course was way too fast - made me realize I need to return to school for remedial studies. Kevin, Again I'd like to say I am sorry. My focus is re-education and a financial means to accomplish this aspiration. I don't believe you've read my resume, but I am skillful and resilient and shall succeed. |

. A 200+ year old "tradition I think you should look up your tax history. Bureau of Internal Revenue
In the 1950s, career professional employees replaced the patronage system. Currently, only the IRS Commissioner and Chief Counsel are selected by the President and confirmed by the United States Senate. The tax system should have been done away with after the war! |
