My husband is looking for ANYTHING. He has been working thru temp agencies and was laid off in June because the companies they contract with no longer accepts individuals with felonies. This has been with 9 different agencies and others will not even accept his application. He just need something, for it is hard to make a positive change and is always judged from things in your past.

My boyfriend has been trying for 3 months to get hired somewhere. He's an excellent worker and anything but lazy. He's very familiar with warehouse equipment, fork lift experience, and not afraid of a lot of hours and night shift. If he doesnt have an ID will that absolutely prohibit him? He's worried about background checks too. We live in DFW, TX. Any help or contacts? Hope to hear back soon!!
Thanks in advanced

Hey All....I know it is tough out there trying to find a job. I'ts embarrassing, constantly putting your info out there for anyone to see... However, there ARE jobs.....there ARE understanding employers.....but YOU have got to do the legwork. You will have to take a position lower than you know you are worth because you have to PROVE yourself to the boss. Texas Workforce is a good source but the re-entry program is a joke. I was told I would have to come back SEVERAL times a week to "check-in". I didn't have a car at the time so that was pretty much impossible so I get my gas money for actually hitting the pavement and LOOKING for a job on my own.
I now work 2 jobs (both employers gave me shot because I was honest on my application)so, yes, there are jobs out there. Employers are willing to work with you, if you are humble and honest.

techguys2go in Carrollton, Texas said: I am having a pretty rough time myself, I'm a 35yr old single father, my 7 year old son stays with me and we are staying with some friends of mine. I have been unemployed for the past 6 months, and no matter where I go I get turned down.... My record is a bit checkered, but my felony charges are all 10 years old or older, when I was young and stupid. The only mishap I have had in the past 10 years was a DWI (misdemeanor) in January of 2008. I served out my probation for the DWI, passed all my drug tests, paid all my fines/fees, etc.

I am an IT professional with over 10+ years of experience in the field. Everything from simply swapping out parts in a PC to writing software in PHP/MySQL. I've also run as a sub contractor, doing network cabling jobs, telecommunications troubleshootingrepair, and installed & configured Voice over IP phone systems. My technical expertise is not in question here, I *AM* qualified for the jobs, but it just seems that EVERY company out there worth working for has a strict "no felons" policy, no matter how far back the charges are.

I know the game the state is playing, they want me back in prison so they can make money on me, well to HELL with that! I'm not going back! I've got my son to worry about, so thats not even an option. MsNisha, I would most definately be open to hear what you have to offer as far as help...I can be reached at andrew AT techguys2go DOT com.

-Andy

What is more rediculous is the USA expects Felons to Not commit Felonies and They wont let them work.
What they really want is for felons to keep on commiting felonies but this time in large groups so they can keep police employed and lawyers. Un Fkng believable

Tired of trying in Richmond, Virginia

I need help. I have recently relocated back to Richmond, Va where my felonies took place over 13 years ago. I left Tampa, Fl where I had a very good career setup and I loved my job. My mom was living here in Richmond and when she became gravely ill, my husband and I relocated back to Richmond to spend her last days with her. Unfortunately, this is where my original charges took place years ago. I have been offered several positions pending the background checks. Once the background checks come through, all the companies withdraw their offers. It is so discouraging. I have an associates degree that I received in NY in 1995 and my background is in customer service management (call center), Collections Manager (call center). My most recent postion was the A/R Manager in Tampa, FL. I know there are a lot of call center positions in Richmond however, they hold my past against me no matter how old. I have a clear work history of over 13 years with no arrests. I currently work part-time for Burlington Coat Factory as a Customer Service Supv. and I hate it because it's very unproffesional and I'm too old to be on my feet all day. I only get 10-15 hours a week and I'm not able to pay my bills. If there is anything out there for me please help!!!! I can be reached via email @ kimmarie7465@yahoo.com.

The reason you are having so many problems is YOU..........either you are NOT being honest on your applications or you are giving up before you give yourself a chance. YOU HAVE TO BE HONEST THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE JOB SEARCH PROCESS - EVEN IF A LEAD INDICATES "NO FELONYS". If you have the qualities they are looking for, you have to make the employer see past your "past". IT CAN BE DONE - I know because I have done it. Be confident in your skills, be appreciative for the opportunity and most important.........BE HONEST!

dont want them to struggle because of my old actions in the past. I have worked
in office administration, telemarketing, cashier, banking, etc. Right now I am
opened for anything becasue my back is against the wall. If you could help me in

gaining any type of employment. If you have any resources please email me at pumpkin200307@yahoo.com

2ND CHANCES 4 FELONS in Arlington, Texas said: I THINK THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. IT IS HUMBLY APPRECIATED.

I drive trucks I am also an ex felon with 2 manufacturing a control substance cases my last case is 8 years old today exactly. Whoever claim they can help ex felons apparently isn't a felon & don't truly understand how rough it is to find work. I have 3 yrs driving exp with Hazmat endorsement I'll tell anyone it's hard to get a gig with that X on your back. However, keep in mind you made that bed so it's up to you to give up & feel sorry for yourself & revert to your old ways or have a made up mind to win against all odds. Keep your faith in God & keep pushing someone will eventually give you a shot. Another thing to my fellow X Felons get creative meaning come up with a business plan there's many ways to get a honest income from home do research on home based businesses or start a Staffing Agency it's sba loans to help out. I'm about to start doing freight brokering from the crib & make more money. Don't give up get going & I'm out. Also if you're a driver get with a temp company to get your experience up that's how I did it google "driver leasing services" & a list will come up.

Im also an ex-felon. It's been rough. I work for a temp agency now but I just keep trying everyday. I had an interview yesterday and explained my situation. I just have to wait and see how that goes. I'm not sure about all of the people who say they can help felons though. I called 2nd Chances for felons many many times and the recordind always say the are out of the office. I have left voicemails and no one will return my call. I went on the website and they ask you to fill out a profile sheet and email it to them so I did that and have not gotten a response. So I'm really not sure what to make of that place.

The best sound & financial proof advice I can give him is create a home based business or something to the nature he's his own boss. He can become a freight broker or agent & work from home he'll need a fax machine, internet computer, & a phone preferably a land line for office calls. These people make good money with the right training he can too. The only thing he has too want it for himself because it's a lot of cold calling at first, but after he gets 3 or 4 customers he can make $1,000 or a day from home. If interested you can send me your or his email & I'll forward him the training course info God bless ya'll & everyone else reading this blog. And for whoever put that bogus info up about they can help any felon should take that down. I went on those sites to see what it do & discovered all it there was is links leading to other sites to companies that say they hire felons when they really don't & I know this for a fact. I drive trucks & the companies don't hire felons unless it's 7 to 10 years old so how are you helping a felon you're only sending them to a door thats bolted down shut tight. But, then to some people get gratification out of misleading others plus every time you click those links off their site to view a so called job the only one getting paid is them.Which is surprising why he/she didn't mention that you can make money off GOOGLE ADS that's what they're doing & you can have felony's from here to Bangkok. So don't believe everything you read. Whoever, started this fiasco should be ashamed claiming to be a felon hero that have the key's for felons to obtain a successful job wow what other super powers does Ms. Whoever posses.

flawed yet deeply empathetic in Arlington, Texas

Recently, I have spent countless hours on these subjects, researching and creating an enlightened mind set. The goal is, to help an understand and that which I had not. This was soon after meeting my boyfriend/bestfriend, finding that he was suffering through this insanely ludicrous cycle, that supposed intelligent people developed as a supposed "cure" aga crime amongst our society. Seemingly, used under the context of help, as an aid to end future problems/crime. I realize that there are always those that manipulate and will use a multitude of excuses to blame, lacking the desire to acknowledge they made mistakes (as we all do, to err is human)but to follow the even more difficult path, of taking responsibility and working at becoming thier personal best. However, I can see that most only want to be able to pay for thier mistakes and not live a life of condemnation. I have no desire to gather information that could be used possibly for identity theft purposes, perhaps even more upsetting to me, used to lift the spirits of people already in need only to shatter the small amount of faith left. I would only like to offer help through what I have found. I am willing to post jobs and sites, organizations offering help and any other information that would be helpful. I may not have been in the same situations but I know hardship. I have been unemployed for two years due to the economy, even after being employed for the past thirteen years. Having lost almost everything, including my sense of self and enduring numerous tragedies unrelated. I only wish to possibly help someone as I would want to be. We should all be in this life together to give to one another, because alone what do we really have? I apologize for the long post but I will gather the sites, information etc. and post them in the next day or two. If anyone wants to contact me, please leave an email address and I would be more than happy to offer what I am able. Just don't give up, life has more to offer you!
