I am in need of immediate employment. I am relocating from St. Louis, MO to the Dallas/Forth Worth area. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Crisis Management/Disaster Preparedness. I am also seeking internships in the above field also. If anyone should have any leads please post asap.

If you have a job keep it. I have been out of work for almost 5 months now and some others in the DFW area have been out of work a year or more. Don't move here thinking the job market is better because it is not. Especially if you have no degree or very little skills. There are really no jobs in DFW for people wiht little skills and most retail and restaraunt jobs are not hiring. If you don't know it already it is really bad out there. If you can stay where you are because DFW is struggling too. Sorry for all the people out of work. My heart goes out to you!

I'm looking to move to Forth Worth in August of this year.I also plan to go to TCC in the fall. I have a CNA cert. and was hoping to find work there in this field. I's the job market bad there, because I heard that the job outlook was great there.

Whoever told you the job outlook in DFW was good does not know what they are talking about. Our unemployment rate is nearing 10%. Good luck to you! If you are really serious about moving into the area, I know a great realtor. Her website is www.bigdbrand.com. You should check it out. There is alot of info about the DFW area on there too.

Try Walmart or Home Depot.

I've tried Home Depot, and WalMart, as well as many others for the past year. I have been unemployed since July 2009. My husband was just fired, and if I don't find a job soon we will be homeless. I just want to work and support my family. I am willing to commute, I just need to get to work as soon as possible. Amy_m_king@hotmail.com

I disagree. I live in DFW. The governor's election campaign keeps talking about how 850,000,000 jobs have been added in Texas since he became governor. It's not because this place is falling apart.

People with few skills will always struggle no matter where they live. (Who wants to pay an employee that has little to offer?) DFW (and Texas in general) is in a way-y-y-y better position that most of the country.

My heart goes out to those without work right now. I know it sounds easy to say, but my advice is to "keep plugging away." (Btw, Kroger is hiring cashiers right now. Go check it out. [pun intended])

My husband has a skill and a Doctorate with experience. Now he is told he HAS TO HAVE a certain course (over a year) to even be recoginized for his position. IT'S ALL ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW!!! I, too, amd getting discouraged. I've been told Walmart doesn't rehire previous employees (me)..., even good ones.
