What do newcomers need to know to settle in and enjoy Gaithersburg? Car registration, pet laws, city services, more...

I just moved to Baltimore and am considering taking a job in Gaithersburg. I googled the directions and it said the drive is about an hour. The company is flexible, letting me come in early 7 am and leave at 4. With those hours, will my commute really be an hour?

I already checked out the rail system and the schedule to Gaithersburg, if I reading it correctly, seems to be catered for commuters GOING to DC and Baltimore and not the other way around.

If anyone could offer some advice, especially from personal experience, I would really appreciate it.
