Those areas are nice, but east grand rapids is a very prejudice community. It has targeted and harassed blacks and other non-whites for years. In the past i have lived in Kentwood,it is very quiet and has very good neighborhoods!

Clarisse interesting comment regarding EGR. Also might want to mention one of the lowest crime rates in the midwest, highest high school graduation rate, and with 96% of graduates going on to college perhaps their doing something right. but that must be becasue they target minorities? Or perhaps just because more is expected? difficult it must be to continue to creat excuses rather than something constructive.

Kentwood has had more than its share of racial tensions. and EGR has had its successes.
Either are good communities.
