What are the seasons like in Minneapolis? How do Minneapolis dwellers cope? |

The seasons are very beautiful for an outdoors person, minus the winter cold. Winters are tolerable for one born in Minnesota; The extreme cold we get (minus 0) is not for the faint of heart. Hardy is the word here...

Yeah, the winters can be really bad here. It's not so much the snow as it is the wind chill. When it's 2 degrees and feels like it's like, -20, it's not so fun! Spring is lovely here, it seems to be short lived, depending on when it wants to stop snowing and when summer decides to kick in. I know it has snowed 3-4 inches in late March/early April before. I'm really not a summer person. We have sticky, humid, mosquito-infested summers here. There can be a day where it's 80 degrees and feel like it's over 90 because of the dew point and humidity. I've spent the summer in southern California and I can say I prefer the heat there than here. I absolutely love the fall here. It's beautiful, comfortable, and a very nice time of year to take a walk around one of our many lakes! |
