I have a 4 year degree in Education, but have repaired computers for more than a decade. Any advice on how to get my foot in the door with an IT company in Nashville starting at an entry level position such as help desk or technical support? There seems to be no one who will look at me without at least of a year of serious experience. So, someone has to get experience somewhere, right?

Ive been an IT Service Manager for a lot of years...here is what you should do...Get some certs... If you can, go get an MCSE or at least an MCP cert and A1 cert... Try to get ITIL cert as well...but that one is less important. HP and Dell certs dont hurt either..

If you can get certified... you wont have trouble finding jobs.
