Manufacturing Supervisor - Production, Shipping, Quality

My husband & I have the opportunity to relocate to Nashville due to my job. He was laid off 3 weeks ago after 33 years with the same company where he worked as a supervisor. For 27 of the 33 years he worked as a supervisor on both production lines and shipping (sheet vinyl flooring industry). He also worked as a quality manager. Our issue is whether to make the move or not before he has a job. Once we sell our home, we can certainly "make it" on my salary, but he would be more comfortable if he had something lined up. Even if he were to find something before we move, he could easily move while I sell the house. Our children are grown, so they are not an issue with school or anything. In the past two-three months, he has applied for every job he qualifies for, but there has only been about 10 or so production type positions available. We've also been tracking any openings on Nashville area company websites.
