Diet technician job market in Philadelphia?

Hello,

I have a friend in another state who is currently finishing up a two-year program to become a diet technician. She is a highly-motivated straight-A student who is very career focused. I believe her plan is to continue education to become a registered dietitian.

Her program is over in the summer of 2010, and she wants to be in Philadelphia, so my question is: What is the job market like for diet technicians in Philadelphia? Relative to the state of jobs in this city in general, what is a recently graduated diet technician’s chance of finding work within this city’s health care system? I know she would love to work at CHOP, but is interested in other hospitals or clinics or wherever this type of work is needed.

Or, if you have any advice in general for how she could start to prepare to enter into this field in Philadelphia I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance.
