Host said: What are the best local job boards, job clubs, recruiters and temp agencies available in Phoenix? Job boards can be helpful but do not always get immediate response, many companies use agencies. Outsouceing is becoming a trend for many large companies. I would recommend serching the job board in order to get an idea of the current Phoenix market then applying with a local staffing agency. I highly recommend Ultimate Staffing. These agencies are full service, meaning that they provide permanant and temporary placements. I hope this helps! |

I am looking for employment. I would like to find somewhere that I can be for quite some time. More than 2 years would be great. I currently have an AAS Degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development. I have worked with a Head Start agency and a social service agency that provided parenting skills and supervising visitations between parents and children in CPS custody. I did a lot of driving throughout Maricopa County and am not intersted in the driving. I am looking for something in the Northwest or West Valley. More currently, I have been home with my youngest child (I have three) that just started 2nd grade. I was home for that and to take care of my elderly grandparents. One passed, one is now in a care center and the other is with another family member. I have a lot of organizational skills along with working with diverse individuals, meeting deadlines and time management. Obvious with the above mentioned duties for the past few years. I have assisted in an office environment as it pertains to the real estate field (organizing appointments, updating databases, some research). I do have quite an array of experience and am driven to succeed. I am honest and understand the need for confidentiality. I have experience in preparing documents and notes on individuals trying to get their children back in their care and my documentation is clear on concise and "as if you were there" reality. If anyone is looking for someone hard working, reliable, excellent character and can pass an extensive background check. Let me know what you have to offer. My down fall is I am not bilingual. Though I have recently taken Spanish, I am still not fluent. I do have well over 120 credit hours in college classes. I am currently working toward my bachelors. |

They hold bi-monthly meetings, workshops other events geared toward helping people in transition get to that next career opportunity through those tools and face to face networking. There is a free event this coming Monday Evening 3/30/09 and the details are listed below: GRAB HOLD OF YOUR CAREER IN TOUGH TIMES

I'm sorry you are having such a problem finding work. I have been laid off for over a year now and nothing . I to have been on bunches of interviews and have over 25+ years experience in my field but, nothing. Thank goodness my wife still works! Did you check out the job situation BEFORE moving to Phoenix???? It is really bad in Arizona for work. They say things are picking up , but, I haven't found out where yet. My advise to you is, while you are still young, move to a different state where there is work and build yourself up and get experience then, if you still want to, come back. Good luck. |

Spanish Teacher in Phoenix, Arizona 15 months ago |
Certain industries have been hit harder than others in Phoenix. In some industries it is next to impossible but if you are willing to work outside of your industry and take jobs you wouldn't normally consider there are lots of jobs to be had. In Phoenix businesses want to get the most band for their buck and most either prefer or require Spanish speaking applicants. If you can add Spanish fluency to your resume it is a huge bonus. I would recommend www.letutor.com/classes/spanish-classes/ I'm a teacher there so I'm a bit biased but the course focuses on conversational Spanish is always taught by a native speaker. You can also start learning the basics on your own by studying spanish.about.com/ It is a great resource for those wanting to study on their own. |
