There are a couple of studios in Albuquerque. One is a Sony Studio that specializes in Animation. The University of New Mexico has a program - Interdisciplinary Film and Digiltal Media (IFDM)- that trains people to create an employee pipeline for the movie industry. There is also Q Studios, a film production studio. Lionsgate is supposed to open a studio in Rio Rancho (a city on the outskirts of ABQ) but it hasn't been built yet. |

Hell no I don't miss N.C. All of that drama over there??? Be for real!! Cops stopping you for no reason and they act like they got it out for every black man over there in North Carolina, then they have a bunch of mindless punks over there following you around alienating your privacy, riding around trying to find out where you live so they can meddle with you on your job to make you quit!!!! or trying to get you Fired!!! Everytime something does happen they act like they are doing everything they can to avoid a law suit. So f*&$ N.C. |

I have lived in Arizona for 8 years now, and I have noticed and lived through several layoffs, after about two and half years i have noticed that companies seem to lay off employees to bring in new employees for a lower wage. I have two BA's and a masters and am always told am over qualified but come on if I know what the job pays and what type of company it is shouldn't it be up to if I want the job. I just want a company where I can build a career and not just have a job. Any help finding a company that believes in their employees and not the next best thing would be awesome....Am willing to do the work and prove myself... |

I just left Phoenix to find work here in CT last month.
All the job agencies here cant believe that I have been layed off frome 4 jobs in the last two years, they think I`m lieng even though I provide them with phone numbers. The last job I had I got laid off frome and the owner of the company is claiming that I quit so now I dont have any unemployment income and I`m stranded out here with no moneyand no job. If anyone is reading this please stay away frome Phoenix Arizona

Broken in Norwalk, Connecticut said: I just left Phoenix to find work here in CT last month. I completely understand where you are coming from. Since 2007 I have been laid off from 3 jobs and a 4th one closed up shop, showed up to work one morning to find the place locked up and a sign on the door wishing us luck. The fun part is this was in OHIO, it really is not any better anywhere else folks. I just relocated to TX 2 months ago for a job, hopefully things will be a little better here but if not at least I will be warm! |

You may want to try the Phoenix, ChAndler, Mesa, Glendale Libraries. Doesn't pay well - $8.50 - $10.00 per hour but they usually have free english classes. Also Shell, Exxon, Chevron gas stations have better paying jobs $13 - $15.00 per hour to start plus benefits. |

Hello everyone, I am relocating to Chandler, Arizona because my fiancé was offered a great opportunity that w could not turn down. I am currently working in Georgia at a Community College as the Assistant Director of Financial Planning. I have a BS in Sociology, a Masters in Public Health and I am currently working on a Doctorates in Community Health (Expected graduation Dec 2013). I a thoroughly trying to find a job within the Public/Community Health Sector. At this point, I am willing to work anywhere just to get out there and then I'll continue to fight for the career that identifies closely with my education and experience. If you all have any helpful tips, I would greatly appreciate it. Good luck to those who are searching as well. It is hard, but I'm sure we will make it to our destination. |

I hope you have had some luck since you posted this. I can tell you that, after living in Chandler for over 6 years now, education has ZERO value in this state. There are NO JOBS here, unless you are in sales or work in a call center. Even healthcare jobs, which are abundant due to the aging population here, are difficult to secure. And expect to make about 25% less out here than most other parts of the country. My advice would be to NOT BUY A HOME HERE. That way, if your wife gets layed off (which happens constantly out here to everyone), you can pick up and go back home. Good luck to you! I wish someone would have warned me before I moved out here. And yes, I have a college degree and many years of work experience and still cannot find a job that pays over $12/hour. |

Thank you for your comment. I have had several interviews but nothing has came through for me. Most responses that I have received stated that my salary requirements exceeds their budget for the year. I have no idea what i'm going to do but I have to figure it out one way or another. Again, thanks for the insight. Good luck.. |
