In today’s economic climate, organizations are being pushed by customers to reduce costs, improve quality and deliver a product faster and faster. In turn, the human resources side of business is being pushed to be faster, better, cheaper. To accomplish this, administrative tasks are then developed in an impromptu manner with little emphasis on HR processes that support customers and employees.

To remedy this new ongoing issue of costs associated with HR processes and tools, San Diego State University along with presenter John Robinson is holding an education exchange, Process Improvement Tools for Human Resources Professionals, to aid HR professionals with these current work demands.

Robinson combines keen knowledge of the tools introduced from the Total Quality Management (TQM) movement with his efforts over the last five years to master the philosophy and tools of lean. He wants to help HR professionals create an even stronger and more robust program for accomplishing change. “We need to recognize that the tools for continuous improvement are secondary to working with people. I focus on teams to move beyond the technical application and push them to develop an understanding of how change in the work environment can impact people in a positive manner.”

HR Processes and Tools
The exchange will show how productive companies in the world are taking their administrative processes to the next level, and show attendees how to use this knowledge to start the change process at their own companies.
