What are the best neigborhoods in Topeka?

Where is the good life? For families? Singles?

The best neighborhoods are located primarily on the outskirts of Topeka. The westside has the most shopping areas and restaurants, but there isn't a location in Topeka that you can't reach within 15 minutes. The east side of town, past I-70 is a great location as well, not as much shopping, but is developing and is closer to Lawrence. North Topeka is growing as well nice homes on the fringe, north of highway 24. The worse part about living directly within town is you are always near a shady neighbor hood. There are great homes in westboro, mcfarland farms, and potwin but they are also near the locations where people commit crime out of convenience.
