Under the direction of the Fabricated Products Technical Superintendent, the applicant will provide Electrical Engineering support for several finishing production lines and supporting facilities. This position is located at the Warrick Operations plant near Newburgh, Indiana. This support involves using electrical experience to provide daily trouble-shooting and monitoring, control system (Drive & PLC) programming, HMI programming, improvement project design and execution, equipment and service selection and specification, advice and assistance to maintenance personnel to improve uptime and equipment reliability, and adherence to regulatory and Alcoa EHS requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

o Providing day-to-day technical advice, problem solving and support to operations and maintenance by applying engineering principles, ABS and reliability tools to drive problems to root cause.

o Initiating and/or implementing improvement projects including engineering solutions to eliminate repetitive equipment failures and other reliability issues.

o Managing capital project requests, schedules, costs, etc.

o Ensuring compliance of project work with appropriate engineering standards.

o Identifying and/or implementing new ideas and cost reduction opportunities.

o Identifying and addressing obsolescence issues with existing equipment.

o Designing, troubleshooting, and understanding various PLC systems, HMI systems, drive systems, low voltage power distribution systems, and production processes.

o Creating, maintaining, and updating equipment files, programs, and drawings.

o Developing preventative/predictive programs/systems to improve process and equipment performance.
