Do you love to code, and take pride in your ability to wield new technologies, improve designs, and solve real problems? Do you believe in overall professional ownership in all that you do? Do you want to work somewhere with a strong developer culture - where your management understands development, where the developers are involved in requirement gathering and design, instead of some lossy (and lousy!) process involving 'Business Analysts'? Where your peers (who are all shockingly competent!) know .NET development inside and out - and tinker with Ruby, Python, Java, Objective-C, and other languages/platforms for fun? This should all be the norm for any development shop - but, sadly, is not - making a development position with GDSX a great opportunity.
GDSX provides best-in-class B2B and B2C software for the global travel industry, with enthusiastic customers that trust us to be their technology partners. We've got a solid platform with our flagship products, and are developing brand new products to meet new industry challenges - and are looking to grow our development team to continue delivering greatness.
We value critical thinking skills and aptitude above experience on paper. It's ok if this would be your first real programming job or you have 10 years professional experience in C# - but you've got to 'have the chops' regardless of what your résumé looks like.
For us, the important questions are: Can you code? Can you test your code? Can you receive constructive criticism about your code? Can you communicate your ideas to others? Can you be self-sufficient and proactive in your personal learning process? If you can do these things then GDSX is an awesome place to work--voted one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas!
Our development team works in the latest Microsoft tools (all developers have active MSDN Premium subscriptions), and we use lots of cool technologies: C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET MVC, WCF, SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and even Objective-C for iPhone/iPad (if you're so inclined). You can find HTML5, jQuery, and responsive web design with frameworks like Twitter Bootstrap on the front end, work with SOAP and REST on both the client and server side, and craft highly distributed and multi-threaded cloud infrastructure on the back end.
You don't have to have every skill or buzzword under your belt already - we've got enough projects to leverage each candidate's unique talents whether they may be with web development, bare-metal optimization, big data, cloud architecture, DevOps or elsewhere - but you do need to be a smart, flexible, quick learner that's willing to dive in to the next big thing.
The custom software you work on will be deployed to a server farm that processes millions of transactions every month and handles many terabytes of data. This is the real deal involving tough problems with smart people.
