R+L Carriers is currently seeking a .NET Software Engineer at our Wilmington, OH Technical Center. A successful candidate will work within the Information Management Department producing world-class enterprise operations applications in support of R+L’s leadership in the transportation & logistics industry. The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team to support the company’s City, Line Haul and Cross Dock Operations. Working with business stakeholders to understand operational requirements and concerns the candidate will design and develop enterprise solutions. This includes the identification and development of algorithms for planning and optimization problems. The candidate will apply heuristic optimization and operations research to vehicle routing problems with split demands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Development of enterprise applications using C#, the .NET Framework and web technologies
Understand business operations requirements
Identify and develop algorithms for planning and optimization problems
Object Oriented Analysis and Design
Database design and development (Oracle / Microsoft SQL Server)
Preparation of development estimates and design documents
Support and maintenance of existing systems
Minimum of 3 years development experience with C# and .Net Framework
Experience with Geographic Information Systems and telematics
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS
Experience with web services, Service Oriented Architecture and enterprise application integration
Experience with Use Cases, UML, Data Models and Design Patterns a plus
Experience with enterprise integration tools such as Tibco BusinessWorks and Enterprise Messaging Service (EMS) a major plus
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized and independent, effective at multitasking, and able to interact with individuals from multiple disciplines.
Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely related discipline with specialization in heuristic optimization and operations research applied to vehicle routing problems with split demands.|
