Job Description


This is a software developer position responsible for providing high quality design, development, coding, testing, and implementation of business system applications. We are seeking a talented developer with expertise in development utilizing ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript and/or other scripting languages. This person will design and develop front / back office solutions. He/she will work with an exceptional infrastructure and database team in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Ability to work in agile, collaborative team environment

Analyze business requirements, design and develop software solutions

Create and fully document a conceptual and detailed design for both program logic and interface data

Develop commented, well-engineered program code based on a description of the business logic

Solicit and/or perform code reviews

Maintain and modify interfaces based on approved change requests

Test completed program code for adherence to specifications

Deploy tested code to production systems during off hours or periods of scheduled maintenance

Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies

Provide technical support of financial production applications and database systems. Work off hours to provide support to software applications or system maintenance.

Qualifications & Required Skills

Expert working knowledge of .Net and web technologies

Strong coding and design capability in C#, JavaScript, VBScript, PowerShell, Perl, Python or other scripting languages.

Strong abilities in SSIS/SSRS development

Competency in Windows OS server environment is required

Solid expertise in writing queries and stored procedures

ASP.NET web applications and services development

Windows services development

Ability to create, modify and manage relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server.

An understanding of database performance pitfalls and best practices

Providing guidance and training to junior staff

Desire to research new third-party technologies and trends with the ability to recommend new technologies that could fulfill the needs of future programs.

Ability to work independently and to manage and track your work is vital.

Ability to follow team Best Practices for design and development is important. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for learning new technologies

Understand basic FTP fundamentals and setting up SFTP and encryption techniques

Experience & Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

7+ years development experience

5+ years of experience with .NET framework. Experience with .NET framework 4.0 or higher.

5+ experience with scripting languages like Javascript, VBScipt, Powershell, Perl, Python, Shell or others.

5+ years SQL Server Database – Table design, modeling, SQL, stored procedures.

Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Development

Deep experience in Financial Services and financial application development experience

Experience in SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 development

Experience with Tableau, Qlikview like solutions.

Experience with Charles River or another OMS Trading Platform, Microsoft Solomon or Great Plains, Advent Axys or Geneva, Concur, Datawatch Monarch, Factset, Bloomberg, Eagle.

Familiar with various FTP server services and private/public key encryption methods

Microsoft Certified Qualifications
