We are currently seeking strong .Net and SQL developer candidates to develop custom plant floor and office use applications for use in manufacturing and office environments. The candidate will routinely work with internal customers to gather requirements, create system designs, and develop Windows and web based applications to help meet Corning’s manufacturing goals.
Gather requirements from internal customers for changes to existing applications or for the development of new applications. Work with Senior Developers to design robust solutions that meet customer requirements. Develop new systems and implement changes to existing systems based on changes in the manufacturing environment, internal department requirements, or changing customer requirements while following company and department development and documentation standards. Develop system documentation and training materials, and train internal customers on applications prior to deployment. Work as 3rd tier support for IT developed and maintained systems. Assist with triage and troubleshooting of application or other system problems as needed, typically in a time-sensitive environment. Participate in a rotating off-hours on-call support.
Bachelors Degree 3+ years of developing Microsoft VB.Net Windows and Web applications that utilize SQL for data storage and retrieval. (.Net 2.0, 3.5, 4.0) 3+ years Microsoft SQL (2000, 2005, 2008) or Oracle experience (T/SQL or PL/SQL) including experience creating tables, stored procedures, functions, and complex queries. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook. Ability to be flexible and change priorities as needed. Excellent problem solving skills
Working with the Proficy Plant Applications SDK Prior experience developing and debugging VB6 applications. Prior experience with OPC/PLC Communication. Microsoft SSRS reporting experience XML, HTML, ASP.Net, VB.Net, WPF, WCF, Webservices, Windows Services Experience using Team Foundation Server for change control. Previous experience working in a manufacturing or warehousing environment
