The nation's largest child advocacy association, National PTA, currently has an opening for a .Net Developer located in Alexandria, Virginia. The individual selected will provide expertise and knowledge in the SQL server and .NET environment in order to provide support to web-based systems that currently interface with legacy databases, and develop new applications. The selected Developer will provide additional support in researching software tools, creating custom IT solutions and support to various projects
The .Network Developer will also be responsible for the following:
Analyze technical requirements and design new components, web pages and controls to meet National PTA functional, performance and availability requirements.
Work within TMA Resources Personify Toolkit to design and develop.
Design and develop applications using .NET framework and Visual Studio.Net.
Maintain and support National PTA’s SQL environment.
Prepare technical specifications for programs to be written; design, code, test, debug, and document programs.
Deliver high-quality solutions on-time.
Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen National PTA’s technology platform and development practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent
2+ years of .Net development with ASP.Net and/or C# with Visual Studio 2010 and .Net 4.0 framework
2 year of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong experience with and understanding of Code and Version Management
Strong preference for experience with SharePoint portal
Written and verbal communication proficiency
Solid interpersonal skills; project planning and leadership skills
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, debugging and problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to adapt readily to direction change
SQL Server Reporting services knowledge is plus
Candidates must have familiarity with SQL compliant database platforms, web servers, app servers, and operating systems. You must have experience with ASP.NET and components/inner workings of the Microsoft .NET framework. You should have SQL development skills and must possess an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. Experience in developing enterprise web solutions using ASP.NET is essential for this position. Familiarity with content management systems ("CMS") including CMSPlus is a plus.
