Reporting to the Senior .NET Developer, the .NET Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining websites. They will troubleshoot issues with existing systems and work with the appropriate resources to resolve them. The Developer relies on their experience and knowledge to plan and accomplish goals. This person in this role should possess the ability to absorb new skills/technologies and an enthusiasm for putting them to use.

Essential Job Functions
  • Stay abreast of relevant, current technology trends; Share learnings with fellow technology associates
  • Contribute to technology best practices for the department
  • Provide estimates of how long it will take to complete specific tasks assigned by the Senior Developer
  • Build and maintain sites according to the project requirements and direction from the Senior Developer
  • Participate in site and application development
  • Collaborate with the Senior Developers in executing solutions against the specified technical architecture and visual design
  • Document code in accordance with expectations outlined in the project requirements
  • Communicate to the Senior Developer and Project Manager the development status of tasks according to an appropriate frequency as determined by the Senior Developer or Project Manager
  • Unit test individual work and the work of others as determined by the Senior Developer
  • Raise potential issues impacting the overall success of the project in a timely manner to the Senior Developer/Development Manager
  • Contribute estimates for specific tasks associated with new business proposals
  • Build/assist in building technical prototypes or proof-of-concepts to be used for business development activities

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CIS, CS or Communications or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years experience in .NET web development, programming, software and/or application development
  • 1-3 years experience with client-side web development and maintenance using HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript and an interest in continuing to develop these skills
  • 1-3 years experience with writing / modifying relational database queries (SQL)
  • An understanding of the techniques used for developing reusable code
  • Some experience with source code control systems
  • The ability to develop and execute a unit test plan and work towards delivering code that is free of bugs and satisfies all communicated requirements
  • Ability to communicate issues and challenges in a timely manner to both Senior Developers and Project Managers (both verbally and/or in writing)
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented and creative environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ASP.net MVC
  • Experience with Responsive Design
  • Experience with Flash, AJAX, or other RIA interface technologies

Travel Requirements
  • This position may require up to 5% travel to and from current or potential client sites, conferences, seminars and/or training sessions.
