DK Security is recruiting for the position of part-time Security Officer(s) at a local Bus Station located in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor, MI area . You will find the job description listed below. TITLE:
Part-Time Uniform Security Officer
1st Shift, 2nd Shift, and 3rd shift; weekends and holidays’
Up to 129 hours/ month

SCOPE:
Security Officers are responsible for protecting the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, customers and clients against criminal activity, accidents, fires and natural disasters, as well as providing outstanding customer service.

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must provide above excellent customer service when dealing with Clients, Customers, Co-Workers, etc.
Guard posts – this may include building lobbies, reception areas, or outdoor guard shacks.
Monitor surroundings visually or on closed-circuit television.
Conduct foot patrol of interior and exterior to check entrances, doors, windows and vents are locked and secure against break-ins (includes climbing stairs).
Use a touch pipe system to monitor accuracy and timeliness of foot patrols.
Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
Verify personnel and vehicle identification at access points, monitor parking and traffic flow, and assist customers.
Check for employee and vendor identifications.
Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.
Inspect vehicles and packages as well as monitor deliveries.
May provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations.
Must follow site specific post guidelines.
Document daily activities and incident reports.
Security Personnel at the site will not smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipes or other smoking materials while on duty. Security Personnel at the site may only smoke during breaks, and then, only in designated areas.
Assist police and other criminal justice agents when requested (locating/identifying suspects and wanted individuals, etc.).
Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid as needed, and contact emergency medical personnel when needed.
Respond to criminal and/or disruptive incidents, de-escalate situation if possible, and contact appropriate law enforcement authorities if needed.
Prepare incident reports on medical emergencies, criminal activity, and disruptive incidents.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
At time of application, no internal applicant will be considered if he/she is on an active disciplinary write-up.
Must be 18 years of age and must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must be of good moral character, with no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for criminal sexual conduct or related offenses, theft, assault, or crimes of moral turpitude, is required.
Must have impeccable grooming.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must possess above average customer service skills.
Must present a friendly, positive, professional image to Clients, employees, supervisors, managers, and the general public.
Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. These include the ability to read and write the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.
Must have the ability to multi-task.
Must possess the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as a minimum.
Must have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation.
Must have the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, and navigate stairs.
Thorough knowledge of emergency procedures; ability to manage emergency situations while handling normal functions.
Must have the ability to work outdoors for 4-8 hours per shift in all weather conditions.

Must have the following physical capabilities:
20/40 vision, corrected
Good night vision
Walk 100 yards in sixty seconds
Life and carry 40 pounds for 100 feet
Pass whisper test
Tactile use of both hands
Climb a twelve-step flight of stairs in fifteen seconds
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
