The MSE&A Principal Project Engineer will join the APU systems Engineering and Project Development team for the Airbus A350XWB Auxiliary Power Unit System [A350 APS] program. The A350 APS program scope includes providing leadership and technical oversight for the APU installation kit inlet, exhaust, and suspension system, design, development testing, qualification and certification.
As the dedicated A350 APU Installation Kit Principal Project Engineer, the role supports and/or is responsible for the following Project and System Engineering activities:
Leads and organizes the assigned development and qual tests efforts in IPDS phases 4 and 5.
Coordinates cross functional assignments with support groups within ETS, MCOE and MSE&A
Works to establish project plans, milestones, schedule control, and ownership of development test and certification activities for assigned work packages.
Creates, reviews and issues associated plans, procedures and report deliverables as defined in the A350 APS Development and Certification Test Plan.
Participates as a core team member and provides guidance to the extended project team.
Provides status of work assignments and maintains a strong working relationship with internal support team members and the on-site Airbus technical lead.
Supports the A350 APS Technical Manager [TM] and the Development, Certification, and TSO team lead in preparing engineering owned plans, reviews and updates, and assists in managing assigned scope, change requests and maintaining the program technical baseline.
This position reports to the MSE&A APU Sr Technical Manager leading the A350 APS Project.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering or related discipline
10 years experience in Project Engineering, Design and/or Development Test
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export restrictions
