The Role / Responsibilities:
Individual will become an important member of Moody's market-leading regional ratings team and will analyze a wide variety of local government debt transactions, including cities, counties and special districts.
Responsibilities include analyzing credit quality using quantitative methods and qualitative judgment, accumulating in-depth knowledge of economic trends and debt practices within the region covered, developing, relationships with investors, underwriters and issuers, and writing high quality research on specific issuers and credits as well as sector trends. Moderate travel to meet with government issuers is expected.
MBA/MPA or similar degree required and 2-4 yrs experience. Excellent writing and presenting skills are necessary. Demonstrated quantitative aptitude and financial analytical ability are important. A minimum of two years experience in credit analysis, financial markets, and/or government administration is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. We are also looking for demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
