The Division of Programs in Business in School of Continuing and Professional Studies is seeking an individual to advise graduate students on academic programs, policies and procedures and provide career counseling. Interpret University and school policies and recommend exceptions to policy, when appropriate.
Master's degree in Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or related business area
2 years' relevant experience in student advising or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience advising students at the college or university level.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to supervise staff. Ability to advise and provide solutions to problems. Knowledge of standard office software. Oral presentation and strong writing skills. Ability to resolve problems in a timely manner.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to manage multiple projects and work with diverse student populations. Ability to diffuse conflits and come up with creative solutions to complex problems.
