Responsible for all general office duties including answering phones, filing insurance claims, maintenance of patient accounts, collection of patient revenue, and other various assigned duties.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Knowledge of medical coding and third party operating procedures is preferred.
Knowledge of Insurance Industry standards, claim forms, and remittance advice is preferred.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to prepare professional correspondence.
Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Computer usage skills with minimum 7000 keystrokes/hour alphanumeric, accuracy rate of 95%.
Computer literacy including but not limited to Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Centricity, and Meditech.
Ability to operate a 10-key by touch.
Ability to enter data accurately and correctly interpret insurance documents.
