About our department... In support of the Montana State University mission, the Information Technology Center promotes, develops, delivers, and facilitates the use of information technology services and resources. The IT Center manages, operates, and supports Montana State University's multilevel, distributed computation and information systems, provisioning the central infrastructure and information systems for the four-campus enterprise. The IT Center delivers academic technology and user services for students, faculty, and staff on the Bozeman campus and provides technical leadership to distributed personnel throughout the campus. About this position... This position reports to the Accounting Manager in the ITC Business Office. Primary responsibilities include the support of the Sales and Support Services group by entering, reconciling, and reporting sales transactions; maintaining inventory; preparing projections; entering billing information and handling billing inquiries; and reporting results. This position also supports the ITC organization through data entry and reconciliation, budget preparation, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting and property management.

Required
Qualifications

1. Two years of post-secondary education plus one year experience in accounting or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and practices, accounting systems, reporting, budgeting and fiscal principles, practices and procedures. Please list examples.
3. Demonstrated competence managing, monitoring, and reconciling fiscal records.

Demonstrated skill using personal computers with a variety of spreadsheet and database software including the use of calculations and formulas. (Please list software used and examples of use.)

Preferred
Qualifications

1. Demonstrated experience in retail accounting.
2. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics in a high-volume accounting setting.
3. Knowledge of State, Higher Education accounting practices and\or the Ellucian Banner accounting system.

Requirements

1. In accordance with MSU policy, hiring will be conditional upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
2. Must be able to use a computer monitor, keyboard and mouse for long periods of time.
