Provide daily animal care and husbandry of laboratory animals in a research environment. Performs animal technical procedures and provides animal study support with supervision.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides animal husbandry and care for a variety of laboratory animal species in accordance with TMHRI SOP's. Provides fresh feed and water, cleans animal cages and animal/procedure room sanitation procedures, cleans ancillary areas (hallways, cage wash areas, etc) according to schedules, participates in animal deliveries, recognizes normal environmental room parameters (temperature, humidity, light levels, air flow, etc). Reports abnormal conditions to the Vivarium Manager. Recognizes normal clinical appearance and behavior of animals and reports any concerns to the veterinary staff.
Performs technical procedures with veterinary staff supervision including but not limited to animal identification procedures and post-operative monitoring. Follows FDA GLP and GMP requirements if applicable.
Participates in holiday and weekend duty rotation of animal care and husbandry.
Performs other duties as assigned.
GED or HS diploma with no experience.
Entry level Animal Care Technician
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED

Ability to work well with others
Extended periods of walking and standing may be required.
