This position exists to coordinate the Institute for Academic Medicine processes and system for matching the research and clinical interests of faculty within The Methodist Hospital System and with affiliated institutions. The coordinator will develop and maintain working relationships with both clinical and research faculty and staff within TMH as well as with the individuals at system entity hospitals. The coordinator will identify faculty interested in collaborating based on similar or complementary research and clinical interests, recent publications and professional activity, funding opportunities and other pertinent information. The coordinator will maintain an organized and structured process by which clinical and academic activity is documented and maintained so that participants can depend on accurate and accessible data in a detailed, searchable and usable database

Manage and maintain integrity of the 'matchmaking' database and system containing relevant information needed to identify faculty research or education interests and projects, the physical location of those individuals, and opportunities for collaboration. (Service - Patient/Customer Satisfaction)
Train faculty and researchers on the effective use of the innovative 'matchmaking' service, and assist with processes for ensuring user adoption (Service - Patient/Customer Satisfaction)
Address specific requests or inquiries to identify and provide information about collaborative opportunities for faculty and researchers. (Service - Patient/Customer Satisfaction)
Determine accuracy and quality of information in system such as academic activity, research interests, keywords, and potential matches, while working with the faculty and researchers to identify possible collaborators. (Quality and Safety)
Coordinate face-to-face discussions between faculty and researchers to encourage effective and efficient transfer of ideas and suggested collaborative opportunities. (Quality and Safety)
In conjunction with departmental leadership, develop and maintain positive working relationships to ensure that collaborators are informed of modifications, updates, and/or improvements to the system in a timely manner. (People)
Maintains organized records of successful collaborative projects and participants for all disciplines related to the Institute for Academic Medicine and ensures that they are readily available to institutional leadership for reporting purposes. (Quality and Safety)
Assists IAM leadership in the development and systems input for annual budget for operations, as well as updates to systems.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree; MHA, MBA preferred
3+ years experience in academic health center or institution
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to formulate collaborations between research and clinical faculty
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and balance many competing priorities
Proficient in use of spreadsheets, databases, word-processing and presentation software
Ability to support teamwork and maintain a positive and supportive attitude
Professional handling of exposure to confidential/sensitive information
