The purpose of this position is to provide actuarial pricing/rating support for Munich Reinsurance America, Inc.’s Specialty Markets Division. Support business goals by analyzing, evaluating, modeling and rating potential competitive solutions for our clients.

Prepare and complete actuarial analysis with supervision or guidance on more complex projects appropriate for the functional area. May include ultimate loss projections, pricing studies, risk capital modeling, portfolio analysis, rate filings and research projects.

Provide actuarial support and exhibits to internal state filings department for bureau loss cost adoptions, loss cost multiplier changes and proprietary commercial lines rate/rule filings.

Participate in the development of actuarial presentations and present results/topics to clients (internal & external) and management as requested.

Create new, modify and enhance existing applications to address special issues, with guidance.

Complete required data preparation, including data input with guidance. Identify data issues requiring specialized actuarial attention.

Document and communicate assumptions, results and alternatives to actuarial staff and internal and external clients.

Complete technical peer reviews as needed.

Participate in a Line of Business Expert group. Provide actuarial analyses, participate in discussions and present results.

Prepare for and pass Actuarial Exams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business or related field requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis

Passed up to three (3) actuarial exams

Up to2+ years of insurance/reinsurance/actuarial experience

Working knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite applications(including Excel, VBA and Access).

Strong interpersonal skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Ability to schedule and prioritize workload demands, including multi-tasking

Primary and excess pricing experience a plus

Experience in results monitoring and rate/product development a plus

Experience with GLM, the Emblem product and general modeling software packages a plus

Experience supporting rate filings and communicating with state insurance departments a plus
