Responsible for the administrative support of undergraduate academic orientation services within the Academic Advising and Assistance office. Manages a database system designed to serve new students and parents; handles communication via telephone, web, and mail. Schedules meeting rooms, organizes logistical arrangements, program materials related to the orientation program. Supervises one student assistant.
Education equivalent to completion of high school.
At least three years of progressively responsible secretarial experience.
Experience with Microsoft Word or related word processing software.
Spreadsheet and database experience required.
Demonstrated organizational skills with strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image.
Knowledge of specific software is desired (Excel, Access, SAP ); ability to design /maintain websites. Understanding of CMU service offerings and programs is desired.

Maintains department web reservation system, department database.
Provides calendar support to director;
Monitors and orders program materials related to orientation.
Acts as primary contact person on matters related to CMU orientation.
